Due to great public interest in regard to the results of the first Tax Administration inspection since the Fiscalization Act entered into force, we are publishing inspection results collected on 8 January 2013 by 13:00 hours.
The inspection will take place continuously by Friday, 11 January 2013.
More than 330 inspectors are out in the field, and every business where irregularities were detected was warned and received a deadline by which the irregularities must be resolved. The have two days to conform to the regulations, or else the business (restaurant or bar) will be closed, along with a 5,000 kuna fine.
The Tax Administration decided to come down hard because of disappointing numbers. Out of 28,000 fiscalization subjects, only 18,000 have obtained a FINA certificate, which means that as much as 10,000 do not care about new regulations.
