Due to great public interest in regard to the results of the first Tax Administration inspection since the Fiscalization Act entered into force, we are publishing inspection results collected on 8 January 2013 by 13:00 hours.

The inspection will take place continuously by Friday, 11 January 2013.

More than 330 inspectors are out in the field, and every business where irregularities were detected was warned and received a deadline by which the irregularities must be resolved. The have two days to conform to the regulations, or else the business (restaurant or bar) will be closed, along with a 5,000 kuna fine.

Since the fiscalization system was started on 27 December 2012 at 10 o'clock, until today, the citizens have send 179 SMS messages to verify fiscal receipts. In the same period, 14,154 fiscal receipts were verified over the Internet.

As it has been seven days since the Cash Transaction Fiscalization Act came into force, the Ministry of Finance, Tax Administration will start doing inspections on 8 January 2013 of those fiscalization subjects who were obligated to implement fiscalization on 1 January 2013.

Based on the provisions of the Fiscalization Act, the Ministry of Finance, Tax Administration will issue an injunction against doing further business and seal the business premises of those fiscalization subjects for which irregularities will have been found, until the irregularities have been resolved.

In case the irregularities are resolved during the course of the inspection, the fiscalization subject can resume his business activities without interruption.


Ordinance on Cash Transaction Fiscalization

The Ordinance on Cash Transaction Fiscalization was published in "Narodne novine" n.146/12. Due to the short deadline by which the fiscalization project had to be realized, in order to facilitate and make possible the technical realization of the fiscalization process from 1 January 2013, the Tax Administration drafted a user technical document which is now in its 1.2 version, before the Finance Minister Slavko Linić was able to draft a fiscalization Ordinance based on the final version of the Act.

The standard procedure is the following: passing an Act, publishing an Ordinance, drafting technical documentation.

In the case of fiscalization, the following sequence took place: drafting technical documentation, passing the Act, publishing the Ordinance.

The Ordinance on Cash Transaction Fiscalization is the fundamental legal document on the basis of which the User Technical Specification was created.


4,000,000 receipts received during Saturday shopping

Tax Administration fiscalization servers have passed another big test. After the Cash Transaction Fiscalization Act has entered into force, the first Saturday shopping took place, which the servers endured without any delays. On Saturday, 5 January 2013, the system received 3,998,255 receipt entries from 10,816 OIBs, and 1,268 business premises entries from 684 OIBs.

Receipts can be verified using mobile phones. The price of a text message used to verify a fiscal receipt through a JIR sent to the number 61547 is 0.85 kunas (0.11 €).
